ABOUT US

Since 1922, when Sandy Buckle and his son Alec started the business, now known as BUCKLE, we have been creating a tradition of craftsmanship and quality in leather products.

Unlike many other manufacturing processes, belt making is essentially still a craft. The working of quality leather requires the skill of an artisan. Machinery, even today, is only an aid to these manual skills.

Now, almost 90 years on, we have developed that craftsmanship to the highest level. This is evident in every product we manufacture.

Each BUCKLE belt is made individually by hand. The most basic belt goes through 21 different operations before it leaves our factory. Each belt is individually sized, skived, glued and beveled; the edges are hand coloured with stitching and final assembly completing this process. Each step is handled by skilled people who want you to have the finest product possible.

The material used in the manufacture of BUCKLE accessories is sourced from around the world. From the finest Italian leather for our dress belts and other leather accessories, to the finest Belgium elastic for our braces.

The tradition was started in 1922 and we know we are still offering our customers a product that Sandy and Alec Buckle would be proud of.

We offer our collection to you confident that you will appreciate the continuing tradition of craftsmanship and quality in each piece.
